I have an idea to host a picnic for all my blogging friends.
I would really like it if the Duck's came down from South Carolina.
It would be really nice to meet the Brady bunch.
I would really like it if double A would bring Sarah. My spelling apologies.
I am sure I could get a few of the local bloggers to show up (free food always attracts them)
If someone had free air miles and wanted to use them, that would be cool also.
I might be able to persuade the family to come down from the hills for it.
And if steak was involved, I know Krispy's husband would be in.
I think See Dad Run is close by.
We are running out of weekends before school starts back. If you think we can pull it off leave me a little note.
Let me know what you think..........

On another note. Roadrunner mentioned an October camping trip. Come on Roadrunner - get it put together. .....

In the Game
I may still be in the game of twitter and blogging. However, my posts are way down. I promise you guys aren't missing much. No pictures taken. To great trips to the great beyond.
Well. My wife and I did celebrate 10 years of marriage. We choose to celebrate at Tokyo Steak House & Sushi Bar. It was good and entertaining.
Other than that, not much going on. I am even a bad neighbor. I haven't mowed my weeds in two weeks. I have to get that done TONIGHT!.
Thanks for stopping by. Maybe soon I can return to my normally scheduled life.

30 mile trek is set
I finalized all the details last night. I will be disappearing into the wilderness again for a short time. I am excited. It should be an easy hike with little elevation changes. I pulled my gear together last night, took and inventory and made a list of the things I needed to resupply. That really pulls the hike together. You really get a sense of realism when the list is finalized.
Current Pack weight = 20 lbs
Current inventory: Tent, sleeping bag, whistle, compass, poncho, 1 gallon of water, flashlight, extra socks and shirt, knife and matches
I expect < 3lbs of food. Cereal bars, fruit and trail mix will be my food of choice for the 36 hour trek.
I loaded both GPSR's with each trailhead point and some Geocaches along the hiking route. This is a National Forest; therefore, geocaches are allowed. I spoke with my wife and got the okay for her to drop me off early Friday morning. She will pick me up on her way back to Atlanta on Saturday evening.
During my research, it has really sparked my interest to hike the entire length of the Alabama Pinhoti trail. I think this short hike will be less visually interesting than the rest of the Pinhoti trail. However, it will still be good: Mountain lakes, waterfalls. The next trip I want to make is starting at the southern most point of the Pinhoti in Alabama and go north through Cheaha State Park and up towards Cleburne.

So, you folks out there who think it's too hot now. Go ahead and clear your calendars for sometime in September. I may be able to hold out until then.
